Creativity is the motivator.

I read this interesting and honest blog post on bloglovin today from IHeart Organizing. The post from the author, Jen, writes about blogging for the past 6 years and how much the blog industry has changed. She described being burned out, having writers block and how competitive blogging has become. I loved reading this because I remember feeling the same way in 2008. In 2008, I decided to close Paper Celebration which I had owned since 1994. I was burned out, and had lost the creative drive that had made the business so fun. I found a marketing job and went back to work for a manufacturer rep firm. Fast forward to 2015, and I have now opened 2520 Lafayette. I have new ideas and new goals for the business, mainly opening a store in a few years. I have made quite a few changes, including designing more products myself. I want to create a unique piece for each customer and not represent a lot of different lines. I am working more with local printers. I have learned a lot over the past 7 years and ready for this new opportunity. Looking forward to the holiday season and attending two holiday boutiques. First one will be at Tripoli Country Club on November 4 and second will be the Junior League Holiday Boutique on December 4. Cheers to experience, learning and opening eyes to new opportunities.
